Summary
I love the Lord and the Lord’s people! I served under the leadership of my father and pastor the Rev. Dr. B.W. McClendon, Sr. at the over four-thousand-member St. James Missionary Baptist Church of Austin, Texas from 2001 till 2013. Growing up as a pastor’s son has afforded me the opportunity to see all the operations of a church and the administration of the church. As the Director of Church Ministries, I oversaw the development of all ministries and worked closely with the Church Administrator in facilitating actions needed for ministry growth as well as the budget needed to make sure we were keeping the Matthew 28 mandate. Here I not only gained experience with the ministry, but also the worship and pastoral care aspects of church leadership.
During this time, I also served as the Director of Technology and Website Development. Providing the groundwork for the now eight-year-old $10 million dollar edifice that now serves as the worship center and education building for St. James. I also served as the Director of Generations, which is the ministry arm for ages 0 to 30 years of age. With over thirty ministries alone under this one department, I oversaw exponential growth and new lives changed because of the Gospel!
I earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas. To prepare for a career in church leadership, faith-based teaching, and Gospel preaching he received a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Austin Theological Presbyterian Seminary. I am currently applying for and in the pursuit of a D. Min or an Ed.D.
In November of 2015, I was elected as the Pastor of the County Line First Baptist Church of Pilot Point, Texas. God has blessed His word so far.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children. In addition to watching my children in their various athletic and academic pursuits, he likes to play Xbox One and watch Law and Order: SVU.
But most of all I love to preach, teach, and pray for God’s people!
